This paper presents my personal impressions of the Age of Exploration, especially concerning the arrival of the Portuguese on the coast of West Africa in the early 15th century. I examine this topic from the perspective of an African that was first exposed to Europeans in this manner, and then I examine this topic as if I were a Portuguese sailor that joined this first expedition. 4 pgs.
