The Impact of Sexuality on Conversion and Segregation Among Jews and Christians in Medieval Spain
This paper reviews an article in which a speaker named St. Vincent promoted segregation between Jews and Christians in the 14th Century. Despite efforts to integrate the Jews into a predominantly Christian society by those in political authority, the socio-cultural emphasis upon sexuality between Christians and Jews as indicative of deviant behavior provided a firm foundation for the segregation of Jews.
