Russia's Past Makes Post-Communist Democracy Difficult.
This paper argues that the contemporary situation in post-communist Russia is very much rooted in the anti-democratic features of both pre-Bolshevik and Bolshevik society. Russia has always been authoritarian and anti-individual in nature.
