Critical Thinking and Synthesis of Professional Nursing Concepts
This three-page graduate paper examines how a nurse would see current nursing practice as being impacted by nursing knowledge, theory ,and research. Using a critical thinking approach, the author analyzes the impact of nursing research, theory development and knowledge on professional nursing practice and health care in general. The author concludes that critical thinking, problem solving complex patient situations, developing leadership and delegation skills, and justifying nursing care decisions are expected of nurses, so adherence to the nursing principles identified by Orem, keeping upon on research findings, and gaining professional knowledge and experience are of critical importance.
