The short three page paper discusses a mental health disorder of depression and how it is often overlooked in nursing homes. The transition of moving from home to a nursing home is different for the individual as well as the family. Often the elderly feel they are being abandoned by moving them to a nursing home. Chronic depression can develop. It is important to recognize the signs of chronic depression in the elderly.
