Spiritually Profane and Sacredly Erotic Longing: An Analysis of the Relationships Between Spiritual and Erotic Longing in Some Bhakti Poems, the Gitagovinda, and the Hymns of the Surdas
Within this essay, I analyze the bhakti poem "Where Have You Gone?" thoroughly in order to provide a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between spiritual and erotic love. The focus of the paper is upon "Where have You Gone?", and The Hymns of the Surdas and the Gitagovinda are used as background material to assist us in understanding "Where Have you Gone?" narrative.
