Independent Woman in Literature: An Analysis of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
This paper will seek to define independent woman in literature in an analysis of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll and Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. By revealing the nature of independent women in both Alice in Carroll's novel, as well as Jo in Alcott's little Women, we can understand how gender roles were redefined in Victorian era literature.
