A Gender Analysis of Annabel Lee, Lenore, Ulalume, and the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe
This paper will discuss the gender issues that arise in the three pomes by Edgar Allen Poe entitled: The Raven, Annabel Lee, Lenore, Ulalume. By understanding these poems, we can see how gender is used within the context of this Eighteenth century poet. By realizing the way that Poe uses gender ( in the death of his wife), we can see how his style caters to issues that are part of the relationship that men and women are a part of.
