The Auto Industry and the New Economic World Order.
This essay will explore the realities of Fordism and globalization within a specific context arguing that an economy dependent on the auto industry is doomed, referring particularly to Ontario's auto industry. This is the case, moreover, because of the increasing shift to low-wage, low-skill industrial production, a trend that not only moves businesses away from developed countries to countries where wages are cheap, but also effectively robs workers of their power in the workplace both in North America and abroad.
