Post Cold War United States With Regard to Keohanes Theory of Regimes, Cooperation & Hegemony and Gilpins Hegemonic Stability Theory

This brief essay examines the differences in analytic techniques between the theories of Keohane and Gilpin. The former argues that increased global interdependence since the end of the Cold War means that a new kind of stability is emerging in global politics and economics divorced from any single hegemon. The latter would argue instead that the lack of a clear hegemon has increased instability globally both politically and economically.
