An analysis of the Jonathan Swift's Book Gulliver's Travels and Voltaire's Candide and the Theme of Adventure.
This paper will offer the unction of adventure in the satires of Jonathan Swift and Voltaire. The symbolic meanings within these writings will tell us the reasons why they used these themes, and how they are executed within the scope of their work. By analyzing the elements the writings we can learn how Voltaire and Sift were effective in creating satire that could be understood by tapping into truths behind elitist systems of government. 6 pgs.
