Recognition of Common-law Spousal Relations in Canadian Family Law.
In this paper, I intend to develop this argument by examining some of the avenues that have been utilized by these people (common-law spouses) in their quest for legal and social recognition in Canadian society, for example, the doctrine of unjust enrichment and its remedies, the constructive trust and monetary award. As a result statutory reforms have taken place. Relevant cases will be discussed too.
