Bidding for the right to host the Olympics is a subject of debate as a result of recent scandals and Toronto's direct involvement in an Olympic bid. Montreal's experience (1976) with the Olympics (costs and benefits) is examined initially. The Toronto process, in light of Canada's previous experience is then examined.
