This paper considers the nature of privacy law in Canada, both common law and statutory law, with the common law built up from the body of decisions handed down by courts ruling on cases so that common law differs dramatically in different parts of the world, and with statutory law created by legislatures under constitutions at the federal, state, or local levels.
