This essay will look at copyright, in particular assessing how copyright pertains to the Internet today. The first part of the assignment will explore what copyright is and why it is needed to protect people. The second part of the assignment will explore what laws the Canadian government institutes in order to hamper the dissemination of authors' ideas and information and come to assessment as to whether or not the government's actions are efficient and responsible.
