This paper uses the Hitachi Corporation as a model to examine its manufacturing processes and the ways in which those processes have been modified for efficiency and quality, referring specifically to the Hitachi Metals division and its use of conform extrusion to produce a variety of high-quality products from copper wire, as well as other systems used to design and control production.
