This paper analyzes the issue of franchising in the Czech Republic today, showing the appeal to investors, the need for busines in the republic, and other aspects of the issue. One method of investing is through franchising, making deals with local entrepreneurs to open a chain facility and so to introduce a brand to a new market, to help develop the entrepreneurial spirit in the country, to create viable businesses backed by the support network of the franchiser. Franchising would seem to be a likely approach to take in the developing Czech economy, providing expertise and other services without having to control the individual businesses directly.
