Deflecting the Potential Damage of Layoffs: How Effective Organizational Communication Can Reduce the Backlash
The paper reviews some fundamentals of organizational communication, then goes on to discuss how conflict and communication problems must be addressed in the workplace. Addressing layoffs and downsizings are given as an illustration of how companies are adjusting their organizational communication programs, and in order to manage more effectively, are trying to maintain healthy relations with newly identified constituencies.
