The 1970s was an exciting decade for Harlequin Enterprises, filled with growth and prosperity. In an industry where low profit margins and risky releases were the norm, Harlequin made efficiency and certainty a part of their everyday business. As the 1980s approaches, it’s important for Harlequin to evaluate its environment in order to ensure that it will remain prosperous, and can take advantage of opportunities as they come along. By utilizing Porter’s Five Forces, a SWOT analysis and a VRIO analysis, one can identify the important strategic issues facing Harlequin. From this point, alternatives can be discussed. And then, in the end, a recommendation can be made about which course of action is courses of action is most prudent to ensuring Harlequin’s continue growth and success.
