The Life and Works of Donatello: The Innovations of an Early Renaissance Artist.
This paper examines the works of the Renaissance sculptor Donatello as an artist in his own right, rather than as a precursor to the innovations of artists who followed him. There is an emphasis on Donatello's work as a realist, where he draws from the fall of Rome, rather than as a humanist as were most Renaissance artists. 8 pgs. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
