Gallup Polls. The recent Gallup Poll conducted implies that Americans are not particularly excitable with the new round of cuts. With less than a third believe they will help the economy, the public seems to be thoroughly divided as to whether the cuts are a honest or serious idea. Such doubt demands a political response and it is no accident that the news is now dominated by talk of numerous economic stimulus packages being offered by the Bush administration and by Democrats in Congress. And it is here that the disconnection between the Bush administration and the public really comes to the proceeding.
