France, Thomas Jefferson and the Lousiana Purchase
This paper discusses the signing of the treaty agreeing to the Louisiana Purchase, some of what led up to it, and some of the consequences, including the mounting of the Lewis and Clark expedition and the development of the idea of manifest Destiny and the push to the Pacific Ocean that followed it and helped shape the nation from that do to this, including some of the problems it caused.
