This paper examined the case of fair trade coffee, determining that Price fluctuations in the price of coffee, has all but assured that the peasant coffee farmers may not be able to depend on a steady income from their coffee cash crops. To this effect some organizations and groups in the industrialized nations are putting their efforts together in an attempt to help and support the small peasant coffee farmer in the third world. Most of the coffee produced in the international markets comes from these rural farmers who often are unable to make a decent livelihood from such trade. Fair trade coffee movement is a global movement attempting to develop mechanisms to help these peasant farmers by establishing fair trade markets, and encouraging the public to patronize such establishments.{7 Pages, 7 Sources}
