This four page undergraduate paper examines the book, Dreaming of Gold, Dreaming of Home: Transnationalism & Migration Between the United States and South China, 18821943 which was written by social historian Madeline Y. Hsu. The book was published by Stanford University Press in 2002, and since its publication it has received critical acclaim for its distinctly original examination of transnationalism among Chinese immigrants between the latter nineteenth-century and the mid-twentieth century.
