Civil Rights, Vietnam, and Feminism: Popular Culture and Social Change
This three page undergraduate paper examines how selected readings can provide a greater understanding concerning the influence on American popular culture of the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and the emergence of rock-and-roll music. Jackie Robinson in the Major Leagues is interesting in that it examines how the first African-American to break into major league baseball revolutionized American professional sports, while Elvis, The Beatles Arrive, and Woodstock offer insights into how music triggered social and cultural change.
