This paper will seek to understand how Harriet Tubman found freedom for escaped slaves through the Underground Railroad. By showing the secret signs, routes, and courage that Tubman used in these courageous rescues, we can understand the desparate struggles, which kept blacks moving north to freedom. Tubman is an example of freedom for all African Americans by her bravery and actions for her fellow American citizens.
